The construction of the new Olympic ice rink venue in Milan has advanced significantly, with recent developments surpassing expectations as the facility nears completion.

During a recent visit, reporter Verheijen noted the advantages of situating the ice rink within a congress hall, highlighting the ample space available around the track for dressing rooms and a warm-up area. Having visited the location twice before, he expressed surprise at the rapid progress made in recent months, observing that the completion rate seemed to have increased from about thirty percent to ninety percent in a short period.
The Italian organizers are described as dedicated to ensuring that every aspect of the venue is properly arranged and aesthetically pleasing, reflecting their pride in the project. Verheijen expressed satisfaction with the current state of the facility, indicating that it was well on track to meet the necessary standards.
In addition to the venue itself, the Olympic village accommodations are reportedly nearing readiness. While bedding is still to be installed in the bedrooms, most other preparations, including the dining and common areas, remain scheduled for completion in the coming two months. The village design is said to be comparable to that of the Beijing Olympics.
Transportation between the Olympic village and the ice rink remains an area of concern, as the two locations are roughly a half-hour apart. The organizers anticipate reliance on dedicated taxi and bus lanes to manage traffic flow and minimize travel time for athletes and staff during the event.
