Dutch athletes continued to earn podium finishes at the Junior World Cup event in Inzell, with several securing medals in the 3,000 meter races.
According to Schaatsen.nl, Ede Kortlever claimed the bronze medal in the men’s 3,000 meter with a time of 3:42.44. He finished behind winner Thijs Wiersma and Japanese skater Taiga Sasaki. In the women’s 3,000 meter, Jasmijn Veenhuis won the silver medal with a time of 4:09.31, finishing second to Kazakhstan’s Kristina Shumekova.
The Junior World Cup series includes three competitions covering sprint, middle-distance, and long-distance events. For many participants, this series serves as preparation for the upcoming Junior World Championships scheduled for the same venue next week. The schedule for Sunday includes the semifinals for the mass start, 500 meter, and 1,500 meter races, followed by the mass start finals.
All races are available to watch live on the International Skating Union’s (ISU) official YouTube channel.
