Marijke Groenewoud described herself as relentlessly self-critical following her tenth-place finish in the 1500 meter race, but expressed confidence ahead of the mass start event.
According to AD, the Dutch speed skater saw her 1500 meter race result fall short of expectations, trailing behind fellow Frisian skater Antoinette Rijpma-De Jong. Despite this, Groenewoud looked forward to the mass start on Saturday, which she considers her preferred race.
She acknowledged the pressure of being a top favorite for the mass start but welcomed the challenge. Groenewoud emphasized her resolve to secure a medal in the upcoming event, taking full responsibility for achieving this goal.
