The 21-year-old American speed skater has arrived in Heerenveen to compete in the ISU World Allround and Sprint Championships, aiming to defend his world allround title and participate in the sprint events.
Schaatsen.nl, based in the Netherlands, reported on his arrival and upcoming competitions.
The athlete traveled from Milan to Heerenveen on Monday. At the recent Olympic Games, he secured gold medals in the 500-meter and 1000-meter events, as well as a silver medal in the 1500-meter race. During the championships at Thialf, he is set to compete in both the allround and sprint four-distance events for 500 and 1000 meters.
In addition, the Dutch national championships in allround and sprint, taking place this weekend in Heerenveen, will determine which skaters will challenge the American competitor for TeamNL. These competitions will allocate the final starting positions for both the World Allround and Sprint Championships. On Tuesday, February 24, the KNSB will announce which skaters have secured an automatic place in the events.
For those interested in attending the championships at Thialf from March 5 to 8, detailed information and ticket purchasing options are available online.
