Jenning de Boo of the Netherlands secured the ISU World Sprint Championships title with a record-breaking performance, outperforming key competitors including Jordan Stolz from the USA and defending champion Ning Zhongyan of China.

On the final day of the championships, Jenning de Boo consistently delivered top times, notably breaking the world record for the Sprint Combination by a margin of 1.395 points. This achievement placed him ahead of Jordan Stolz, who finished 0.830 points behind. Ning Zhongyan, the defending champion, earned the bronze medal by edging out fellow Dutch skater Joep Wennemars by 0.210 points.
In the 500-meter race, de Boo was the only competitor to break the 34-second barrier for the second consecutive day, clocking a time of 33.93 seconds. His head-to-head performance against Stolz, who finished with a time of 34.17 seconds, marked the first 500-meter victory over the American in their encounters, a feat de Boo described as particularly significant. Laurent Dubreuil from Canada moved up from fifth place to third overall after finishing third in the 500-meter race with a time of 34.32 seconds.
During the 1000-meter race, de Boo maintained a strong lead, finishing second in the distance with a time of 1:07.40. Despite challenges such as crashes from other competitors, he preserved a 1.66-second margin over Stolz in the overall standings. De Boo expressed that winning the World Sprint title, which requires consistent peak performance across four races, was a highlight of his career, surpassing even his previous World Championship and Olympic successes.
Jordan Stolz reflected on his second-place finish, attributing it partly to how he peaked in preparation for the Olympics earlier in the season. Although Stolz won the final 1000-meter race, he noted that it was not his best time and that the short recovery period before the upcoming Allround tournament would be challenging.
Ning Zhongyan was pleased to secure the bronze medal despite finishing the final distance in the same time as Joep Wennemars. The Chinese skater described the podium finish as somewhat unexpected and looked forward to resting after a demanding and successful season that included an Olympic gold medal.
