Dione Voskamp, a 29-year-old speed skater from the Westland region, will conclude her skating career after competing at the upcoming Zilveren Bal sprint championship.
AD, a news outlet based in the Netherlands, reports on Voskamp’s decision to retire following this event.
Voskamp is set to participate for the last time on Wednesday at the Zilveren Bal, a sprint championship held over 100 meters. She referred to the event as her “last dance,” signaling the end of her competitive skating career. Notably, she is the great-niece of fellow skater Jutta Leerdam, who will also be competing for the final time on the same day.
