The International Skating Union (ISU) has released the schedule for the 2026-2027 speed skating season, outlining key competitions including World Cup events, European Championships, and World Championships across senior and junior levels.
ISU Skating, an international governing body for skating sports, published the full event calendar for speed skating competitions in the coming season.
The senior speed skating schedule features multiple World Cup stages beginning in November 2026 in Beijing, followed by events in Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, the United States, and Canada. The season culminates with the ISU World Speed Skating Championships in Beijing from February 25 to 28, 2027. Additionally, the European Championships will take place in Heerenveen, Netherlands in early January. This comprehensive schedule provides opportunities for top senior athletes to compete at various international venues throughout the season.
For junior competitors, the calendar includes several Junior World Cup events and the Junior World Championships. Competitions are planned in Quebec City, Canada, and Baselga di Piné, Italy early in 2027. These events aim to showcase emerging talent on the international speed skating stage and help develop the next generation of elite skaters.
The ISU also notes that event calendars for other disciplines such as short track, figure skating, and synchronized skating will be published separately, ensuring a coordinated and structured timeline for all skating sports governed by the Union during the season.
