Sanne in ’t Hof secured victory in the 5000 meter race in the B-group during the World Cup speed skating event in Heerenveen.

The 27-year-old skater recorded a time of 6:47.65, narrowly missing her personal best. She finished ahead of fellow Dutch skater Marijke Groenewoud, who clocked 6:50.24, and Germany’s Maira Jasch, who finished third with a time of 6:53.14.
Later on the same day, Dutch athletes Joy Beune, Bente Kerkhoff, and national champion Merel Conijn were set to compete in the A-group. Joy Beune previously won the first two 3000 meter races at the World Cup and leads the standings over the 3000 and 5000 meter events.
