Following the Dutch Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OKT), Bosker considered all potential outcomes for his performance in the championships. He expressed a preference to finish in the top two in the five and ten-kilometer distances but acknowledged that this was not achieved. This has led to an uncertain situation, particularly with respect to prioritizing events such as the team pursuit and the 1500 meters, where fellow skater Tim also seeks success. Bosker notes the importance everyone places on their individual spots.
Like in 2022, Bosker’s latest selection for the team was secured through a designated spot. The previous experience at the Beijing Olympics was disappointing, as Bosker, Kramer, and Roest finished fourth in the team pursuit. Looking ahead, Bosker assesses the current team’s potential alongside teammates Stijn van de Bunt and Chris Huizinga. He points out Stijn’s exceptional times during the OKT, including a strong 1500 meters, and expresses confidence that they can contend for medals.
Bosker emphasizes the importance of extensive joint training and hopes their efforts will culminate in strong performances at the European Championships in Tomaszow next week. The team plans to meet and develop a strategy this week, aiming to evaluate their competitive level early in the season.
