Jordan Stolz clinched an Olympic berth despite a fall during the 1000 meter event at the American trials, demonstrating resilience with a strong finish.

At just 21 years old, Stolz entered the trials already qualified for the Winter Olympics due to his prior achievements this season, including winning all four 1000 meter World Cup events. His protected status meant the trial outcome did not affect his Olympic qualification, yet he still delivered a competitive performance in Milwaukee. After slipping early in the race with a belly slide, Stolz quickly recovered to finish third with a time of 1:07.96.
The victory went to Conor McDermott-Mostowy, who clocked 1:07.60, while Cooper Mcleod secured second place in 1:07.84. Both will join Stolz on the US team for the 1000 meter race at the Winter Games in Milan. Stolz is a two-time world champion in the 500, 1000, and 1500 meters and claimed the World Cup titles in all three distances last season. This current season, he remains unbeaten in the 1000 and 1500 meter World Cup races and has won five of seven events at 500 meters.
