American speed skater Stolz expressed satisfaction with his recent 1500-meter time while acknowledging he has not yet reached his full potential.
schaatsen.nl reports from the Netherlands on the athlete’s latest performance and his mindset ahead of the upcoming major winter sports competition.
Stolz, 21 years old, completed the 1500 meters with a first lap of 25.3 seconds, followed by a 26.3-second lap, and finished with a final lap of 29.0 seconds. He noted that he did not skate at full capacity, particularly evident in the last lap. Despite this, he is pleased with the time, recognizing that the track was fast and that there is still room for him to improve.
The skater remains composed and relaxed, a demeanor consistent with his previous experiences. As the key winter event approaches, there are widespread expectations that he will secure four gold medals in the 500, 1000, 1500 meter races, and the mass start. Stolz acknowledges the pressure but describes it as a motivating force rather than a negative influence. He stated that he never feels overwhelmed or defeated by the expectations placed upon him.
