Sablikova began her Olympic journey at the age of eighteen in Turin, where she made her debut. Over the years, she collected an impressive array of medals, including gold in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters and bronze in the 1,500 meters at the Vancouver Games. She continued her success in Sochi with gold in the 5,000 meters and bronze in the 3,000 meters, followed by a silver medal in the 5,000 meters at Pyeongchang and a bronze in the 5,000 meters at Beijing. Now, her extensive Olympic career will come to an end in Milan.
Beyond her medal achievements, Sablikova’s life has been deeply entwined with the sport from a very young age. Having started skating at eleven, her identity is strongly linked to speed skating.
