Marcel Bosker and Team Reggenborgh have expressed disagreement with the Royal Dutch Skating Federation’s (KNSB) decision to select Stijn van de Bunt and Chris Huizinga for the World Allround Championships without requiring them to compete in the National Championships.

Bosker is currently competing at the National Allround Championships for the final available ticket to the World Championships and believes that all skaters aiming to qualify should have been required to participate in the National Championships. He expressed concern over the perceived inconsistency in the selection process, referring to the automatic designations as ‘gifts’ that give some athletes an advantage over others.
Team Reggenborgh also shares this viewpoint, emphasizing the importance of a fair and transparent qualification procedure for all competitors. They argue that the decision undermines the competitive integrity and merit-based selection that should define the process for representation at international events like the World Allround Championships.
