Orie, Schulting’s coach, explained that he has learned to recognize when she becomes tense during competitions, noting changes in her posture, gaze, and remarks. To help her stay relaxed, he often uses inside jokes before events to prevent her from becoming too focused or overwhelmed. However, during this past weekend’s races, such interventions were unnecessary as Schulting did not fall into a tense mindset.
Reflecting on her recent national title, Schulting remained pragmatic, recognizing that some top competitors were absent from the event. She emphasized that her satisfaction came from the times she achieved rather than the title itself. This performance, she said, gave her confidence heading into the upcoming World Sprint Championships, reinforcing her belief in her abilities.
