The speed skating suit of Olympic champion Jutta Leerdam, auctioned for 195,000 euros, has been confirmed not to be the one she wore during her competitions in Milan.
The auctioneer MatchWornShirt (MWS) and the Dutch sports federation NOC*NSF have updated the status of the item from ‘worn competition suit’ to ‘Olympic speed skating suit’ following this discovery. The original assumption during the auction was that the suit had been worn by Leerdam in her race performances.
