Suzanne Schulting will remain with Team Essent for another two years as she looks to build on her recent performances and continue competing in both short track and long track speed skating.
De Telegraaf, a Dutch news outlet, reports on Schulting’s contract extension and future plans.
Following a season she described as a “rollercoaster,” Suzanne Schulting aims to focus on steady progress and improvement. Despite experiencing some challenges, the season ended on a positive note, which she hopes to build upon in the coming years. At 28 years old, Schulting has chosen to continue her career with Team Essent, where she has received support from coaches Jac Orie and Sven Kramer. Her contract has been extended until mid-2028, ensuring her presence in the team’s magenta colors for the foreseeable future.
Schulting also expressed the desire to keep competing in both short track and long track disciplines, commonly referred to as “doubling.” She stated that this approach has been rewarding and that it has motivated her to maintain that path moving forward, as it gave her a taste for more diverse competition opportunities.
