Dalrymple has joined Team Staan – CTS Group for the upcoming season after previously considering other teams.
Schaatsen.nl, a Dutch skating news outlet, reported on the latest team changes ahead of the new season.
Last year, Steen, who founded Team Staan – CTS Group, had expressed interest in securing 22-year-old Dalrymple for his team. However, a last-minute call from Jutta Leerdam led Dalrymple to choose Team Kafra. Following Leerdam’s withdrawal from competitive skating after her successful Winter Olympics appearance, Dalrymple sought new opportunities and contacted Team Staan again to inquire about available spots.
Steen sees Dalrymple as a promising talent who still has technical skills to develop. He believes that pairing Dalrymple with Hein could help the skater progress significantly. “We consider him a valuable addition,” Steen commented. Dalrymple’s focus is primarily on the 1000-meter event, but he is also competent in the 500 and 1500-meter distances.
The young team will start the new season on Friday, May 1, in Sint Nicolaasga, Friesland, with a roller skating training session. Anna Boersma, who recently qualified for the Milan Winter Olympics, has earned a contract with Team Reggeborgh. Meanwhile, the team bid farewell to several skaters, including Jasper Tinga, Sofie Bouw, Daan van der Elst, Romée Ebbinge, Claretta Caravita, Sven Kemp, and Jesper van Mieghem. The team plans to add a few more skaters, in addition to Dalrymple, in the near future.
