Gioya Lancee conveyed strong motivation following her recent Dutch allround title, which she won at the NK Allround event. Previously, Lancee competed for the marathon team Puur ICT-BTZ for three seasons. During the last winter season, she demonstrated impressive results by winning the final three races in the Marathon Cup Top Division, earning five podium finishes, and securing a sixth-place standing overall after eight events. Her strong performance on the long track was highlighted by her success at the Daikin NK Allround, where she claimed the title in a field somewhat impacted by its timing shortly after the Winter Olympics.
In addition to her allround national title, Lancee showed her versatility earlier in the year by dominating the Kraantje Lek Trofee, part of the Holland Cup series. She won three of the four distances, securing her overall victory at the event. This combination of achievements underscores her capabilities in both long track and marathon speed skating as she embarks on this new chapter with the team.
