Anne Tauber, the 2018 winner of the Alternative Elfstedentocht held on the Weissensee, will return to the women’s marathon skating peloton this coming winter by joining the Okay-Interfarms team.
Schaatsen.nl, a Dutch news outlet, reports that Tauber, who is originally from Haarlem, has signed a contract with Okay-Interfarms following the departure of their previous leading skater Kim Talsma.
Tauber, currently 31 years old, uses marathon skating as a foundation for her main sport, mountain biking at a global competitive level. She is presently awaiting a shoulder surgery and plans to join the team once she has sufficiently recovered from the procedure. Over the last two seasons, she participated once in an artificial ice race held in Heerenveen in 2024. Prior to that, from 2014 to 2022, she was a consistent participant in marathon skating, representing several teams including Artecef, iM Farming, Van Ramshorst Renault, and TZN.
Her notable achievement came in 2018 when she won the Alternative Elfstedentocht on the Weissensee. The year before, she finished in second place, just behind Lisa van der Geest. This comeback positions her to contribute to Okay-Interfarms as they seek to fill the gap left by their former leading skater.
