Heerenveen Confirmed as a Venue for the French Winter Olympics

Heerenveen has been officially designated as one of the locations for the upcoming French Winter Olympic Games, following an announcement attended by Anneke van Zanen-Nieberg, the chair of the Supervisory Board of NOC*NSF and representative of the Netherlands in the Olympic community.

The confirmation was positively received by six key Dutch organizations that have collaborated closely over the past two years since the initial French request to potentially use Thialf as a skating venue. Those involved include Thialf itself, the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), the municipality of Heerenveen, the province of Fryslân, the Dutch skating federation KNSB, and NOC*NSF. Further statements from these institutions are expected in due course.
