Remy de Wit Leaves Speed Skating for Role in Basketball

Remy de Wit is set to transition from his role as Technical Director at the Royal Dutch Skating Federation (KNSB) to a position with the Dutch Basketball Federation.

According to AD, a news outlet in the Netherlands, De Wit will begin his new role as High Performance Director at the Nederlandse Basketball Bond (NBB) starting September 1. This marks a significant career change for the Kaatsheuvel native, who has been involved in the success of athletes contributing to 36 Olympic medals in speed skating.

De Wit’s move illustrates the transferability of his expertise in high-performance sports management across different athletic disciplines. His new responsibilities will focus on enhancing the competitive level of Dutch basketball through strategic development and athlete support.
