The Royal Dutch Skating Federation (KNSB) has decided not to name a replacement for Jutta Leerdam ahead of the Sprint World Championships.
A spokesperson for the KNSB confirmed that the Olympic 1000 meters champion announced on Thursday evening that she would end her season early and would not take up her nomination spot for the Championships. As a result, no alternate skater will be selected to fill her place.
Femke Kok, who was granted the other official nomination spot for the Sprint World Championships, will participate in the event as planned.
