Speed skater Yoro has announced his transfer to Team IKO-X2O Badkamers, expressing confidence that the move will support the next phase of his athletic development.
Schaatsen.nl, a sports news outlet in the Netherlands, reported on this development.
Yoro began his career as part of the initial group of skaters in the Development Team Jumbo, which has since been renamed Essent. During this period, he made significant progress that led to his promotion to the main team. In 2022, Yoro achieved a bronze medal at the Dutch Sprint Championships; however, he was unable to maintain this momentum and only participated in World Cup events when other athletes withdrew.
In 2024, Yoro transferred to Team Novus, where he regained his enthusiasm for the sport and made further progress over two years. He improved his personal bests in the two shortest distances and narrowly missed qualification for World Cup events in both the 1000 and 1500 meters during the latest season.
Now joining Team IKO-X2O Badkamers, Yoro aims to reach the national top rankings under the guidance of coach Martin ten Hove. Ten Hove stated that they have been monitoring Yoro’s development and believe they can help him take the necessary steps to compete for medals at the highest national level, alongside skater Serge Ten Hove.
In addition to Yoro, Team IKO-X2O Badkamers has recently signed young talents Ede Kortlever and Arjen Boersma. Meanwhile, Kayo Vos has left the team to join Reggeborgh. A summary of all recent transfers has been compiled for further reference.
