Jiaxin Ke, known as Jason Ke in the skating community, has moved from his role as a key material specialist to a trainer-coach position at Team Reggeborgh, focusing primarily on the sprinting athletes.
Schaatsen.nl, published in the Netherlands, reports on Ke’s career transition and his goals with the new team.
Ke began his career as a skater and developed into an indispensable figure responsible for equipment within the Martin and Erwin ten Hove formation. His deep knowledge of skating gear and maintenance quickly made him a crucial part of the team. Over time, the Groningen-based team recognized his coaching capabilities, which complemented his technical expertise. His contributions were highly valued by the skaters, including notable athletes like Beune, who advocated for Ke’s continued involvement during contract negotiations.
With his move to Team Reggeborgh, facilitated by the team’s management decisions, Ke will now concentrate more on coaching sprint skaters. He plans to collaborate closely with the team’s coaching staff, aligning his vision with that of former sprinter Gerard van Velde. Ke aims to help more athletes achieve times under 34 seconds in the sprint. His combined experience in technique, rider posture, and movement dynamics is expected to provide significant support to the sprinters on Team Reggeborgh.
